About the Tokyo Chapter
Keiretsu Forum Japan is the 50th chapter of the Keiretsu Forum global business investor network founded in 2000 in San Francisco, CA.
According to a recent Forbes analysis, Japan today is home to almost 10% of the world’s most innovative companies. As the entrepreneurial movement blooms in Japan, one angel investor said recently. “Japan has it all: a large market, great talent, and technological advancement. Silicon Valley and investors should be looking towards Japan in excitement.”
In fact, five major Japanese inventions helped shape the world we know today: the Toshiba laptop was the first produced for the mass market; emoji’s are a Japanese invention along with the bullet train; the pocket calculator, the SONY Walkman, the Blue LED light that led to energy efficient TVs, mobile and computer screens, and power saving light bulbs; and Android robots.
A major economic power, Japan has the world's third largest economy. It is a member of the United Nations, G8, G4, OECD and APEC, has the world's fifth largest defense budget, is the world's fourth largest exporter and sixth largest importer, and is a world leader in technology and machinery.
The first meetings for Keiretsu Japan for investors and entrepreneurs will take place in Tokyo.
